Well as of no surety, but still was just a approximation that I read. It said that, since these seats would be open for overseas as well, the competition is going to be a lot higher than before (Daugh). Before these seats were dealt by HEC and their aggregate calculation was different (60% BISE + 40%SAT/MCAT). Because of this too people with, even 58% got admitted. The survey was a lot fair and compared the numbers of overseas students pursuing medicine in Pakistan. Well, it concluded as the merit would be some what below 86%-87% for Lahore and overall closing merit would be 83%-84%.
it is a very right decision i guess!

I dnt thnk this shud be the case as 83% is daMn high for foreigners n its the first year too with majority nt bein aware of this .. Fingers crossed

This rule change is single handedly going to slaughter the chances of foreign nationals in Western nations such as Canada and America. In previous years we were only competing against people who had dual nationality yet completed their FSc from Pakistan. This gave them a huge advantage compared to us Canadians who were subject to a 15% deduction after equivalence (Yes, that's right. 15%). This year there's going to be overseas Pakistanis applying as well and the chances of foreign nationals who sincerely wanted to attend med-school in Pakistan are going to be squandered. I would have had no problem if it was a level playing field, either no 15% deduction in our FSc marks or the whole admission process based on just SAT marks. This rule change is driving me crazy and I've tried to contact the ministers and such but none of them have replied in their typical Pakistani style.
I completely agree with you, it is definitely not fair for us. We would literally have to get a 100% in highschool fall into the expected merit for this year.If you need any help with contacting the authority, im more than willing to help since im trying myself.

lol actually it's sort of opposite. Because the requirement for overseas does not state that the student should be overseas. If one of true parent has been continuously staying for 5 years in any other country, although the family lives in pakistan, his/her child can apply on overseas seat. So this pretty much increases the number. :?

Totally agree with you. But the method of calculating final marks is going to be different so there are chances of having higher final aggregate. No offense, people with dual nationals still carry other advantages in country of their other nationality . But overseas, especially ones living in GCC, has to come back for education. Yes, i do disagree with one thing too, that people(student and parent) are overseas ONLY should be considered NOT ones whose mother/father works some where else and rest family has lived their entire life in Pak

Merit would increase as sat score is damn high than Mcat of Uhs.
I person who scores below 750 in Mcat, scores more than 2250 in SAT.
As locals the Uhs merit for locals will decrease to 84.89 this year..
If Uhs considers only its Mcat score for foreigners too then overseas merit would close at 79%.

The thing is that it's not about difficulty levels of any. I am a non fsc/matric student therefore had a lot issues, it was all psychological:cool!: so did not even study properly for it and got 650. Where in SAT i actually did study and secured 2270. I even know non fsc/matric people which made 1000+ in mcat and secured seats in KE. It depends all upon the attitude of student towards study.
Other thing, uhs has already stated that for reserved seats it's MCAT OR SAT. From previous year merit is total unpredictable plus due to changes for these reserved seats, GOD knows where merit would land :bookworm:

Bro most of the foreigners give SAT every year to apply on foreign seats but seldom score well in FSc equivalence which deducts 15% of their marks so they score in mid 70s mostly .. Talking of overseas pakis , majority shud hav gvn mcat surely which will be a distinguishing factor as it was tough ... So lets hope for the best :blush:

Your final is aggregate is 82%. Did not mean to scare you, just a humble advice. It's a bit risky. Keep track of admission procedures of good private ones too, such as cmh or shalimar if you are considering lahore only
. It's always better to be on a safer side, i mean things should be handy :thumbsup: good luck

Its a totally changed scenario this time as overseas n dual nationals have been mixed ... So nothin can be said n predicted :blush: ... Ur agg. is good ... Keep faith on the ALMIGHTY :blush::blush::blush:
