    USMLE Step 1 Preparation

    Hi everyone!

I'm a final year MBBS student from Pakistan intending to take Step 1 this year. I've following questions in my mind

    • What are the best review/resource materials for Step 1 preparation?
    • What do you mean by 'High Yield Subjects' ?
    • What are those less crammable topics that you've to do early?
    • Do you have to select the field (i.e 'Internal Medicine' being my choice) whilst paying for Step 1 fee?
    • What is the ideal Step 1 score for Internal Medicine? (I'm an FMG keep that in mind)

It would be grateful if someone can answer these!

    Peace out.

. Read past experiences of those who got high scores and see what they used at this link:
    This link is good too:
. High Yield means that it is more likely to appear on the exam, the opposite of that is low yield
. No you don't select a field when taking the step.
. To answer your last question, read the NRMP Match Data for IMGs and go to the Internal medicine section. Here's the link:

The Best Advice You Got About Studying For Step 1

You have to develop a plan and stick to it—trust your process. Sure, you can tweak things, but people get into trouble when they abandon their plan because of fear or anxiety about just not “getting it” or not getting through all the material. There will be times when anxiety gets the best of you, but taking a step back (and a deep breath!) and knowing you’ll be able to get to it all (or to adjust accordingly) will allow you to get back into your plan.
